Audioquest Castle Rock (Flat Rock Series) speaker cable pair, Full-Range, PK-spade terminations, 15-feet long. These high performance cables and other audio components (advertised and sold separately) are being offered for sale due to a death in the family. The cable pair is in very good condition and was purchased new in 2014 by a non-smoking retired music teacher/musician. These cables were used to connect a McIntosh MA8000 integrated amp to two Martin Logan Ethos electrostatic speakers (advertised and sold separately). These Castle Rock full-range cables boast superior geometry, magnetic autonomy of each conductor, Perfect-Surface metal technology, conductor-size optimization, dielectric-bias system (DBS), and noise dissipation system (NDS).Features: solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+), a proprietary metal-processing technology that produces high-purity low-oxide copper conductor resulting in low audio distortion. The solid conductors also prevent distortion commonly caused by strand interaction; conductors are insulated with materials that enhances audio dimensionality and focus, carbon-loaded polyethylene on the negative conductor, nitrogen-injected foamed-polyethylene on the positive conductor; patented dielectric-bias system (DBS) is utilized to create a strong, stable electrostatic field to minimize energy storage in the insulation and resulting multiple nonlinear time delays that can occur in an unbiased cable; DBS battery pack will last for years and a test button and LED allow for battery checks; gold-plated PK-spade lugs are soft to give a secure, high quality connection resulting in lower distortion; a nonmetallic collar is used at the breakout where the cable separates into the red and black legs to reduce distortion; the cable is directional, one end is marked “Speaker” the other end “Amp.” Christiaan Punter wrote on HiFi-Advice.com, “Castle Rock...[is] certainly the best cable I heard in years regardless of price, and therefore comes highly recommended.” There are no original packing materials or manual. Currently located in a climate-controlled storage unit in Sacramento, CA; ready for local pick-up or shipping.
