JBL Lancer 99S Loudspeakers

Very good condition legendary JBL Lancer 99S. Conservatively rated at 7. Hard to find in such nice condition. Grills included and in great condition as well. Shipping to be arranged at buyer's cost.

The JBL Lancer Type 99S loudspeaker pair.

Single owner speakers purchased new in 1968 and used only with a Fisher 300 series vacuum tube amplifier in a non-smoking home. Perfect working order. Tweeters and woofers in top condition. The rating is conservative at 8/10 due to very faint watermarks on the tops which only show in certain angles of light. The delicate front grilles and grille support structures are in excellent condition. All of the wood corners and edges are in excellent condition with the exception of a rough spot the size of a penny on one edge as shown in the last picture in the set. There are no flaws, dings, cracks or marks on the 14" Aquaplas cones, dust caps, or surrounds. The Lansalloy surrounds have been treated with the recommended Dot 3 brake fluid for safe restoration of their original dynamic, supple function. The speaker serial numbers are near consecutive and are 98487 & 98485. The driver complement for each speaker is the LE14A woofer with big Alnico magnets and 4" voice coils (Serial numbers 19270 & 19277), the LE20 tweeter, and the LX4-1 Crossover with Low/Med/High tweeter output settings. The woofers test perfectly with nicely matching voice coil DCRs of 6.4 & 6.3 Ohms.

Great smooth sound and very elegant design. This purchase also includes the original boxes with the matching serial numbers to the speakers documented on the labels.
