Quad ESL-57

For auction I have 2 Quad ESL-57 speakers. The serial numbers are: 16604 and 16609. These speakers were part of my late father's hi-fi collection and have been in air conditioned storage for most of the last 11 years. As you can hopefully see from the pictures, the speakers are in very good condition cosmetically and have the original side wood paneling and the original wooden feet. The grills are also in very good condition. Please note that I don't know whether the speakers play, how they sound, or what work they may require. Unfortunately, I don't have the know how to test these vintage speakers. These speakers were last played in the UK and are set up for British wattage (220W). I could only locate one power cord and plugged it into a UK to US transformer and plugged the transformer into the wall and, as you can see from the pictures, both speakers lit up and the red power light illuminated. I will try to locate the other power cord and, if I can find it, it will be included in the sale.  For purposes of bidding, however, please assume that only 1 power cord is included.

If you would like to test the speakers during the auction, please contact me and I will be happy to accommodate you so you can test them at my home. You will need to bring your own equipment to test them though.

I listed the condition below as 'average" since I don't know whether one or both speakers play, how they sound, or what work they may require. However, cosmetically, the condition of the speakers is far superior to 'average.'

The successful purchaser must collect the speakers from my home in Boca Raton, FL, or must arrange for someone to collect them on the buyer's behalf. Please note that I will not be able to ship the speakers, nor can I deliver them to a shipping facility. If you cannot pick up the speakers yourself, or have someone collect them on your behalf, please do not bid. If necessary, I am happy to store the speakers for a few weeks for the successful purchaser to accommodate the buyer's schedule to pick them up.  The buyer must pay the auction fee though. Please note that there will be no returns on the speakers after the buyer collects them from my house.
