Spectral DMC-5 Preamp with Phono Stage

Here is a fantastic Spectral DMC-5 solid state preamplifier- I believe this is circa late 1980s. Serial number is 500113. It is nice shape and it sounds great with the famous Spectral resolution and clarity. I upgraded to a Threshold FET-10E and separate phono stage for more than 4x the price, so it's time for the DMC-5 to find a new home.

As with all Spectral products this model is very highly regarded- these rarely turn up used as their owners love the performance and superior build quality

There are some minor scratches / marring of the finish on the faceplate (see photo) and some nicks on the knobs. There are also some minor marks on the top but nothing that detracts from the appearance.

Besides having an impeccable reputation for great sound, the phono stage in this unit is very flexible- inside it has 2 banks of micro- switches to adjust gain and cartridge loading. I do not have owner’s manual but will provided the sheet that shows how to adjust the resistive loading. NOTE: that the phono stage does NOT have enough gain for a low output MC cartridge like my current Denon DL-S1 @ 0.15 mV. A high output MC or MM cartridge is required.

Again, these are rarely available on the used market and offers great "bang for the buck" especially if you want to add a turntable/vinyl in the future.
