Up for sale: a pair of cherry Spendor S3/5R loudspeakers. These are in excellent condition but for one very small flaw. There is a tiny imperfection on the front of one of the speakers, at the bottom, between the Spendor badge and the left side of the cabinet. I've tried to show it in one of the photos, but it isn't easy to see. If you look close, you'll be able to see it -- it's a sort of scratch -- but you'll not notice it from a normal listening position. I've priced these at fully 20 percent below the Audiogon Bluebook average selling price -- $456 vs. $570 -- to reflect their just-slightly-less-than-pristine condition. In other words, this is a golden opportunity to pick up an absolutely fabulous pair of loudspeakers for next to nothing.
These truly are delightful little speakers -- with a midrange to die for. Two things they won't do: play really loud, or play big, chest-thumping bass. But there's some low-end information there for sure, and it's tuneful as all get out, too. They'll work great in a small room or with a subwoofer. This particular model, by the way, is not bi-wirable.
I've got the original box, which I'll have packed inside another, of course, to ensure that they get to your door safely. Buyer pays shipping.
I'm selling these, since folks always seem to want to know why one has put something up for sale, because I've got way too much stuff.
