Be aware that equipment racks
with frames made entirely of wood will expand and contract
with changes in the weather. Temperature and humidity fluctuations
cause the wood to swell and contract resulting  in loosened  joints which causes degradation of the rack's stability and dramatically increases vibration. Equipment
racks with aluminum sub structures mechanically "lock" at the
connection points and will never loosen and cause the effects noted
above.
Every one of our maple shelves is built using our special block construction technique. The resulting shelves are 4 to 5 times stronger and are that considerably more vibration resistant than shelves made from a SINGLE piece of wood and ours will NEVER warp as you can be certain that those made from a single piece will. Each of our equipment racks and amp stands are of the very highest caliber, using the construction technique outlined below. If you are looking for a superbly built 2, 3, 4 or 5 shelf equipment rack, A/V rack or amp stand, check our other Audiogon ads or contact us for our competitive pricing. The examples of the Super-Wide Equipment Racks shown in this ad have maple shelf dimensions which are approximately 60" wide,18" deep and 1 1/2" thick. A rack with virtually any width, depth or height can be built to your specifications.

The frame of each equipment rack and amp stand is built with high precision CNC machined aircraft aluminum to create the most stable, rock solid foundation possible. The horizontal shelf support beams can be infinitely adjusted vertically to suit your exact shelf spacing needs. Each unit is fitted with adjustable spiked feet (always included, not an expensive add-on) which not only couple the structure solidly to the floor but which also allow for precise leveling adjustments. We include metal protective pads which may be used (if desired) under the spikes to protect any delicate floor surfaces.

After testing many materials for the construction of our shelves, we determined that maple was, without doubt, the best choice available to isolate and control vibrations. Maple is the top choice of all wood species. Maple is far sturdier and infinitely more effective than MDF, will not ring like stone, granite, glass or synthetic substances (no matter what type of tricks or band aids are used to attempt to control their tendency to ring) and will not contribute any resonant characteristics of their own to the sound your system produces. Maple is more expensive than any of these other materials, but it is the best, end of story! The construction of our maple slab itself, makes it many times stronger than a single piece of maple. The maple couples to the stand using a proprietary shelf suspension system of load rated co-polymer hemispheres which further enhance the vibration isolation of the structure. The maple appears to float above the aluminum chassis, but has become, in essence, one with the frame by employing this mechanism.

The following heights are offered for your convenience and should be considered a starting point to arrive at  your overall rack height needs:
2 shelf racks are approx 21" tall, 3 shelf racks are approximately 31" tall, 4 shelf racks are approximately 41" tall and 5 shelf racks are approximately 53" tall. Again please keep in mind that we can produce virtually any width, depth, height or number of shelves that you require.
