Clearaudio Double Matrix Professional Sonic 2 months old

Not very many people have had a chance to use this particular record cleaning machine (no doubt because it is fairly pricey), but I think it is far and away the best & most convenient machine on the market. I got rid of my KL Audio ultrasonic machine months ago because this Clearaudio was just WAY better. And WAY faster.

I originally purchased this machine last summer, but had a recurring issue with the machine putting out far too much fluid. It would leave fluid residue on the bottom side of the record where the clamps/pads met the vinyl, which meant I had to be right there when the cleaning finished to prevent the residue from lingering.

Honestly, I think I may have accidentally caused this while playing with the settings. But after going back-n-forth with Clearaudio customer service, they surprised me by offering to just swap my machine out for a brand new machine in late December 2016.

I was surprised by their offer, but I'm glad I took them up on it. I realized that the original machine I had, which was ne of the first sold in the States, was pretty clearly a Version 1 model.

The new machine they gave me was better in every way. The clamp was more solid and the motor seems more powerful, while being quieter. It also put out WAY less fluid. Now I can run the machine while listening to music without coming back to wet vinyl where the clamp/pads contacts the vinyl. That makes this RCM as convenient as it gets.

Compared to the ultrasonic machines out there, this Clearaudio is superior in every way.

My KLAudio machine was great, but didn't always get residue from older records (like fingerprints) hat require something touching the vinyl surface to really get clean. Also, the ultrasonics are pretty slow, which really slows down my jam sessions.

The Clearaudio uses many of the same concepts as the ultrasonics, but with a safer approach. It's crazy fast, 2-3 minutes only and is much quieter than the ultrasonics.

It's just a bad ass machine that is essentially brand new. I've maybe cleaned 20 records on it, if that.
