JL Audio E-112

Incredibly accurate sound with air moving ability that is unbelievable if you have never experienced JL subs.  I used this unit for about 6 months with a dspeaker anti-mode room correction module and the sound quality was excellent with both music and movies.  The bass blends remarkably well with Martin Logan electrostats.  I liked it so much that I bought another for my main system to replace a def tech super cube 8000.  Before purchasing the second E-112 I talked to JL about which model would meet my needs and discussed my existing sub and was told that an updated driver was available.  It didn’t have any performance issues, but I eventually sent it to them for the update to ensure it would provide long term, trouble free service.  While waiting for the sub to return, I bought a Fathom 112 and now have this e sub waiting for a new owner.  I unpacked and listened to it this morning and it performs as expected, which is outstanding.  The sound quality of the e sub and fathom, eq’d with the dspeaker, is very similar.

There are a few small nicks on the sharp cabinet edges and a couple smudge lines on the left side (viewed from the front).  The smudges are only noticeable in bright light and at the right angle  The smudges are not deep scratches and do not penetrate the veneer.  They look like a cardboard box rubbed against the finish.  Just want to be honest and upfront about the condition - no performance issues, but the cabinet finish is not perfect.  Grill cloth looks very good.
