Thiel Audio SS-1 Thiel Smart Sub

Up for sale are my two Thiel SmartSub SS1 in Cherry. New price: $3400. Asking price: $1350 each.

It took me many years to find subs which are capable of keeping-up with high resolution main speakers and these ones are it.
Unlike most subs (give stratospherically priced passive bi-amplified dedicated units with active cross overs), these Thiel SS1 do not sound rubbery, slow, boomy, disjointed nor they reproduce one-note-bass. They produce harmonics which provide incredible depth and scale to any box speakers.

These are one of the most musical subs available, presenting very clean, clear and tuneful bass down to 20Hz at 99dB (16Hz via LFE). They integrates seamlessly with both two-channel and home theatre systems, allowing you to use either an LFE (user controlled variable amplification) or XLR input (single amplification level) via their external passive cross over unit which is fed by an additional pair of speaker wires from your amp.
They also include smart integration system, allowing you to perfectly tune the sub’s phase alignment by selecting the distance between the sub and the side and back walls of your room. The are 10" sealed box units which are powered by an internal 500W linear class-A/B amplifier and they can be daisy chained - you can add as many subs as you would like and I find that the two create much more even bass in my room.

Selling since I am down sizing my system and have no use for these anymore.

Cosmetically they are in very good condition, give a few scratches and nicks.
