Sublime & Beautiful Systemdek IIX All Manual Turntable with Superb Profile Tonearm in Excellent Condition with Sumiko Premier PIB-1 Interface Adapter Pre-Mounted on the Rear of the Plinth!

[[ NOTE: This turntable is being sold without a cartridge / stylus. The Cartridge shown in the photos is my test cartridge and is not for sale. ]]

The Systemdek IIX is an incredible turntable that is made in Scotland - a true audiophile system, cosmetically beautiful and somewhat rare in the USA. This is the giant killer, and is in exceptional functional and cosmetic condition as you can see from the photos. It plays flawlessly and looks gorgeous. It is a belt drive system with a Thorens - like suspension, and has a heavy glass platter similar to the Rega's.

This turntable works flawlessly, and has no issues. The plinth, platter and tonearm are in beautiful condition with no real blemishes or issues. There are marks on the headshell where the cartridge screws were mounted, and otherwise looks fantastic. The plastic cover has numerous scuffs and scratches, but no cracks or chips and the hinge interface works as new.

The Sumiko Premier PIB-1 Interface is an added value item that allows you to use your own analog interconnect cabling and ground wire at a convenient attachment point. This Sumiko Premier add-on device sold for $ 80 when new in 1989.

Owner reviews of turntables are much more demanding than other audio components, and it is harder to get a higher score. However, several owners at the AudioReview website give this Systemdek IIX turntable system excellent marks – here is the link to the reviews:

This Systemdek Model IIX was released in 1989 and retailed for $600, and the additional Sumiko Premier PIB-1 interface box retailed for $80 without installation. 23 years later there is quite a bit of demand for this Systemdek IIX model because later versions retailed for over $1,000, and of the extremely high quality versus the modest price point for what they sell at on the used audio market. Here is a great opportunity to buy a high end turntable system that is both beautiful and sonically sublime, as well as a true audiophile bargain. Note that I would prefer to sell this locally rather than disassemble and package for shipment. I am happy to deliver to you for free if you are local to me in the San Francisco, Berkeley or Marin County area.

Questions for the seller
I noticed that you said that you would prefer to have it picked up locally. Will you ship it? I placed an earlier bid, but I live in Atlanta. Michael
Hi Michael, I wrote you a detailed explanation when I declined your offer. I wish you were closer, but without the original packing boxes it is a very lengthy process to strip the turntable, wrap, isolate and individually wrap the components and box it all up safely. I've done this before and my last turntable (my Linn LP12) took almost six hours from start to finish. I have shipped more than 200 items on AudiogoN - some fragile turntables like this, some hard to package McIntosh glass faced components and have never had a single issue - however with my new job I no longer have the time it takes to do it properly.
