DENON DTR-2000G DAT Recorder (issues)

This beautiful piece of equipment will play sometimes but mostly not. A tech looked at it and said it appears to be a problem with the tape head mechanisim not engaging the tape because when touched with light pressure it would play fine. He was inexperienced with it and prefered not to mess with it. I am the original owner and purchased it through a dealer who was obtaining them direct from Japan so the unit is wired for 100V operation and came with a small plug in transformer which has been lost. These are readily available a radio Shack.

The "G" in the model stands for goldtone finish and it has wooden side panels. There are scratches is the flip down panel that hides the controls. It really is a gorgeous piece and I am really going to miss it. I'll get some pics up ASAP.
