This is a very well preserved SP-10 (the original- not the MKII, MKIII, etc.), found in the basement of a friends house under a stack of old tape decks and other 80's vintage hi-fi. It was pretty well protected with cardboard on top of the dust cover, which was taped down to the base with masking tape- this left some marks but not too noticeable. Otherwise in great shape, as you can see from the pictures. A few minor scratches in the veneer where the dust cover rests and a tiny bit of pitting on the aluminum plinth. Dust cover is in great shape, some swirl marks and white paint splatter that I did not try to remove. Disassembled and meticulously cleaned, speed adjusted. Suspension in good shape, rubber intact, spiders removed and all electronics look brand new. Tonearm removed and cleaned; repaired and cleaned funky SME 4-pin tonearm cable socket and re-mounted. The tonearm is nearly perfect, no pitting and knife edge bearings perfect. Comes with a Stanton cartridge (not sure of the model) installed. Possible upgrades include replacing nylon knife-edge bearing with bronze one seen on ebay, also removing the 4 rubber grommet mounting "isolators" from the tonearm base has been recommended for better sound. I left everything intact, this unit is completely stock and original straight from the '70's. Oh, I will throw in the latest version of the Origin Live Platter Mat. This is a great turntable with an excellent tonearm in perfect running condition. Selling as a unit - it's a time capsule that throws you right back to 1972! The price is reasonable but PLEASE FEEL FREE TO MAKE AN OFFER. This puppy weighs 40 lbs and will be packed very carefully so expect to pay for 45-50 pounds packed. SORRY, PICTURES WON'T LOAD - I'M WORKING ON IT. I WILL GLADLY SEND YOU PICTURES IF YOU CONTACT ME.
