I have few interesting and amazingly sounding pieces that i was offered to audition before they were distributed in USA and Canada.
The PRE Audio is company from Poland/Germany /Holland and is well known for their state of the art air tangent arms.
The PRE ASP-1501 arm stands against any, I mean any air tangent arms on the market today sonically; but has all of them by quality of craftsmanship and functionality. The level of adjustment and simplicity is amazing.
The PRE Audio managed to pump the air directly into the bearing, not into the guiding tube. It instantly eliminates the biggest problem of all air tangent arms- clogging the air pores, uneven air distribution and as a result- skipping and mis-tracking.
Also not to mention it eliminates the biggest dirty secret of all tangent arms- killing the cartridge by bending the cantilever to the inside. The ASP-1501 whole bearing/wand/headshell is as light as 19 gramm. For Example AirTangent wand is close to 90 grams, Kuzma's wand....well let's not go there at all. A cartridge dragging this weight and do you expect the cantilever to be straight after few hundred of records?
The tonearm requires only 0.03 PSI to move it as it should. The pump is quite big wooden box- absolutely silent and can be placed right by the table. The pump is suspended with very sophisticated rubber floating strings. It floats in the air with no resonance at all. The meter outside is set to regulate the pressure. The pump is set to 220V and require transformer. I use my own and it is 50Lb heavy. Any radio store has small one for $20-$30. I do sell the arm without the pump. The pump is free ($300 value), but you have to pay shipping and get your own transformer. All tubing supplied too.
The PRE Audio tables and arms have ton of positive reviews in press and will be selling in the USA soon but at a different price level.
