The Odyssey RP1-xg Export Gold edition: Offset radial tone arm designed by John Gordon.
The asymmetrical design addresses the fundamental resonance and frictional issues common to all pivotal tone arms. The arm tube is offset vertically from the bearing and counterweight, the vertical moving parts are offset horizontally from the main pillar whereby displacing the cartridge and counterweight from the axis of the arm tube. The centre of gravity is below the pivot which in turn reduces resonance energy and frictional forces [including airborne resonance] substantially enhancing focus and image stability.
