This is a beautiful used Ars Sonum Filarmonia SJ integrated amp. It is a one owner unit (4 years old) trade-in (customer upgraded to Ars Sonum Gran Filarmonia amp) that is in excellent condition, with a new set of JJ E34L tubes, complete with factory packaging and manual. Fantastic sounding 30W/Ch push-pull (E34L) class A design (it is NOT a push pull Ultralinear or Triode design) that is handcrafted in Madrid Spain. Previous version of the Filarmonia was reviewed by Stereophile (by John Marks) and received a Class A rating in their recommended components. The SJ version has improved parts layout, fewer capacitors in the signal path, hand wound transformers and more.
Amplifier has a estimated 600 hours of use. All tubes were tested and since I found one of the original E34L tube set was not testing quite right, so I installed a brand new set (matched Quad) of factory spec'd JJ E34L tubes (the new tubes were also tested in our tube tester and also in the amplifier to ensure the matched and measured correctly in circuit to factory specs). Signature Sound is the authorized USA Dealer/Distributor for Ars Sonum and we are offering this amp in what we are calling a "Ars-Sonum Certified Used Amp". We test all the tubes, then run through three pages of factory specified measurements to guarantee the amp is working to spec and the tubes are good. We stand behind our Ars-Sonum Certified Used Amps which come with a 6 month warranty (parts and labor - 30 days on the tubes) and a 30 day satisfaction guarantee. USA Retail price on a new Filarmonia SJ was $3,995 and this used amp is only $2,150 plus shipping. Amp comes complete with factory packaging and manual.
NOTE: Filarmonia amplifiers previously came with Cardas Golden Reference or Clear Power cords from the previous distributor at a retail price of around $5,000. This amp as with new Filarmonia SK amplifiers we are selling comes with no Cardas power cord. If you wish to purchase a Cardas Audio power cord with this used amplifier, please contact us for a package price with a new Cardas Audio power cord of your choice. The Cardas Clear and Clear Beyond power cords work extremely well with the Ars-Sonum amplifiers - and these are our recommended power cord for them. | Hi, what's the difference between the SJ and the newer SK version? And can you perform the upgrade and how much? Thanks. The newer (and current) SK version has a couple of key differences. The chassis has been changed to allow the RCA jacks on the rear to be directly mounted to the chassis. This also allowed the use of better quality RCA jacks. The other difference is the "X" option for the SJ which upgraded the coupling capacitors in one important part of the circuit, is now standard on the SK amps. The caps used for this have very limited availability, so because of that and the physical differences to the chassis of the amp, a SJ can not be upgraded to the current SK version. It is important to note that this used SJ does NOT have the "X" upgrade (IF so, it would designated a Filarmonia SXJ)
