Audible Illusion Modulus M3A John Curl Gold Phono SOLD

I have for sale my Audible Illusion M3A tube preamp with the John Curl Gold Phono Card. I have been using this unit as my reference preamp since 2006. This is not your run of the mill M3A, this unit has been hot rodded by Bob Backert of Backert Labs. If you don't know about Bob and the work that he does just Goggle his name, Bob is a master of tube electronics. I had him tweak this preamp three times as he has come up with new advancements. Each advancement in his design made this better and better.  Needless to say, the unit sounds amazing. The air around instruments is dead quiet, the soundstage is huge and the detail presented in the music is to die for.

Then we have the famous, John Curl phono card. I would challenge you to find a phono stage as good for less than $2000. I inserted a Sutherland PHD phono  preamp thinking I could better the sound, it was sold within 4 months. The JC phono stage is just magical and takes this preamp to a level that few others can match.

This also has the rare silver faceplate instead of the boring and dull black. its much classier looking.

As you will see on the faceplate it says Modulus 3, this was upgraded at the factory to M3A status many years ago which is stated on the circuit board.

The unit is in great shape, one extremely small nick on the top of the faceplate that's barely visible, other than that its uber clean. The separate power supply is perfect.

I have the original box and packing materials as well as the owners manual. I will include a generic power cord but suggest you use a high quality cord. I have better feet installed and special sound deadening on the bottom. 

I also wil insert a quad of extra tubes. the current tubes are from the factory and have about 18 months on them. Still a ton of life left, the unit plays dead quiet.

This is a world class preamp that can be the centerpiece of any system. I am changing my set-up because we are downsizing to a smaller home and a lot of toys need to go.
