Audio Research D-115 Mk II Vacuum Tube Power Amplifier in excellent cosmetic and working condition. The faceplate is in excellent shape with no dings or scratches. The amp chassis and transformers are also in great shape as pictured. It includes the original Audio Research double box shipping cartons and a copy of the owner's manual.
The amp works well and sounds excellent. It was serviced at the Audio Research factory a few years ago and has only seen minimal use in recent years. All tubes are working well with plenty of life remaining on the present tubes.
The tube compliment of the D-115 MKII: (3) 6922, (4) 6FQ7, (4 matched pairs) 6550, (1) 6550, (1) 12AT7. The power output is rated at 100 watts per channel of pure Audio Research classic vacuum tube goodness. The Serial Number is # 49031001.
The Audio Research D-115 Mk II amplifier was designed as a pure tube amplifier of the highest quality in Audio Research's golden age in the late 1980's when it was leading the audio vacuum tube renaissance. The engineers proceeded with the design philosophy of utilizing a simple, but proven classic vacuum tube circuit, with none of the Jfet or solid state stages that were used in some of their later designs that get mixed reviews. It has a classic tube sound that is highly stable driving even the most difficult low impedance speaker loads.
