Balanced Audio Technologies BAT VK-32 Preamp [Template]

For sale is an immaculate Balanced Audio Technologies (BAT) VK-32. This unit is not the SE version. The SE version uses the 6H30 tube which to my ears, is not as forgiving sounding nor can one "tube roll" like you can with the 6922 tube, which is what is used in the VK-32. The VK-32 also is tube rectified, using a pair of 5881/6L6 tubes for those duties. I have six new EH 6922 tubes in this preamp, and I will include a new matched pair of TungSol re-issue 5881 tubes, plus a pair of Sovtek 5881 tubes as well. I found the TungSol 6L6STR tubes to sound excellent in this preamp so I have installed those in the preamp and it will arrive at your home with those inside. (see photo). I just had my local tech examine this unit and it is 100% perfect. I am rating it an "8" to be very conservative but a "9" is much more like it...
I have also found that the BAT likes aftermarket powercords so I am including in the sale a 5 foot long MAC Sound Pipes powercord which is a $250 item. All in all, with new tubes and the powercord there is about $350 worth of new tubes and accessories.
The preamp will be double boxed for shipping. This is a heavy unit (about 32 pounds) but for shipping I will charge a flat $50 to anywhere in the continental US. Shipping will be via FedEx and a signature will be required at time of delivery. PayPal users please factor in the 3% when considering costs. Normally I am happy to wave the PP fees but at the price of this unit it represents a significant cost so I am charging the fees this time.
The stock heavy duty remote is included as is the owner's manual.
