I have decided to downscale my system therefore selling the major components and transitioning to an integrated amplifier. This unit is the heart and soul of my current setup. I am very reluctant to let it go, but I just do not have enough time to thoroughly enjoy my audio system due to required business travel.
This VK-52SE is in excellent condition and performs as new. I bought this new from a dealer and it is still under warranty to me. I have had no issues with this piece. I replaced the tubes two months ago and the new ones are barely broken in. You will not be disappointed with this preamp, it sounds as good as it looks. Once again I have rated this as 8/10 just in case there is someone who is pickier than I am! I have owned the VK-50SE and VK-51SE and this unit betters both by a substantial margin. The dynamics are astounding. The depth of the soundstage is incredible. The timbre of instruments and vocals are about as good as it gets. Low ballers will be kindly ignored.
