My own creation of a buffer amp, instantly became my favorite. I even made one for myself. So, no doubt, with only two in existence, it is a Limited Model. What is special about this design lies in the power supply. There is a separate regulated supply for both the tube heaters, and the actual triode circuit. This means that you are able to heat the tube before applying voltage to the rest of the circuit. The benefit here is that the heater in the tube has a chance to make the ion cloud that is it's job before the voltage from the B+ circuit is applied. Why care? Because without the ion cloud to protect the tube plates, there is a bit of shock to the tube, which decreases tube life. Why don't other companies do this? Some do. It is more expensive to make though. Usually called standby, or maybe even soft start, those are some of the other attempts to help tubes survive the longest. ....................................... Now, you cannot ignore the 'tube towers' and wonder what gives? These protect the tubes from RF interference, and even damp the tube itself. Yes, they look cool, and were pretty expensive themselves, as each one is machined, and is also threaded. The tubes do not get hot or even warm enough in this case to be an issue for overheating. ........................................ The cigar case is made from mahogany, and has an exquisite paint job. It is nearly perfect and beautiful. The brass plate on the back was made by me. In fact, all other enhancements were my design. The power supply chassis is robust and yet sleek in design. The power supply produces little heat, as each transformer is over sized and barely taxed at all......................................... Lastly, the tubes that I have in the unit are Amperex Bugle Boy from Holland, but I cannot guarantee that they are real. I mean that I have read a lot online about fakes out there. One thing that I do attest to is that they really sound great, and that is the most important aspect to me. I am adding a second set of SOVTEK Tubes from the Tube Store. These come with the original Tube Store box, and are new....................................... I encourage questions about this product and welcome discussions about audio in general.
Questions for the seller |

Hello you peaked my interest about buffers. I have the magnepan 1.7's and using emotiva solid state electronics. Sometimes I just cringe when certain cd's sound shrill. Had considered buying a tube preamp, but they're pricey. Maybe the buffer could tame this a little? Thanks Kevin Kevin, these units are good for just such a situation. That is the reason that I use them in my system. I have few models to choose from, so we can work out a deal that is good for you.
