Tube amplifiers have always sounded magical but when you add 300B tubes into the mix, it becomes heavenly. And this is what the CA-309 is all about. The monoblock amps with their 300B tubes put out 45W of Class A sweetness. If you are in the market for tube amps and have a budget of around $5,000, these are one of the most musical sounding amps you can buy in this price range. Their 45W may force you to get a fairly efficient speakers but it is all worth it. Mid-range is smooth and relaxed with a rich warm sound. Upper mid-bass had a nice weight to it with the lower end bass rounding it off nicely. It may not have the tight slam of solid state amps but it was good enough to satisfy most listeners.
