Conrad Johnson LP140M Monoblocks

 Positive Feedback magazine raves about the Conrad-Johnson LP140Ms monoblocks.  I'm parting with these stunningly musical amps to help cover medical costs. Mark Porzilli, designer of the PipeDreams, (Absolute Sound magazine Harry Pearson's reference speaker), and I chose these amps to drive the midranges of my tri-amped PipeDream loudspeakers, so they have had a leisurely life.  Offered at a big discount. These stunning LP140M monoblocks are near mint: the only blemish is a 3/16 inch hairline scratch on one faceplate that I found only using a flashlight. These amps come with Tung-Sol 6550s and Electro Harmonix 6922s. They are Upscale Audio’s premium grade. Through the PipeDream loudspeakers, these amps produced the most lifelike, three dimension image of any amp that I have used with these former Stereophile Class A speakers. This is partially due to CJs use of Teflon capacitors.
Positive Feedback had this to say in their Writer’s Choice rave review of these amps: “The LP140M is vastly superior to much acclaimed Premier 140 stereo amplifier. In particular, there's far better bass and upper octave extension, transient attack, low level resolution and sense of space. In addition, this is what CJ itself has to say on their website about these extraordinarily musical amps: “At conrad-johnson we are fully aware that component parts contribute importantly to the sonic performance of any circuit design. The main power supply reservoir uses a bank of massive custom polypropylene capacitors. No electrolytic capacitors are used in any of these power supplies. The LP amplifiers maintain the exacting quality standards for which conrad-johnson is internationally known. Resistors are precision laser-trimmed metal foil types. Coupling capacitors are the new Teflon CJD caps and all other audio-circuit capacitors are polystyrene, while the power supplies use large value polypropylene in parallel with polystyrene capacitors. Proprietary wide-bandwidth output transformers contribute to excellent high frequency performance. Even the machined gold plated OFC connectors and the internal wiring have been carefully selected for optimal sonic performance. Attention to details of this kind enable us to extract the full potential from our circuit designs and ensure that our products will perform to this potential for years to come.”
