I am the original owner of this beautiful amp that I purchased new in 1995. It has been very well cared and I have all of the original papers and packaging material to ship. The tubes have approx. 50 hours on them.

I have other offers that came in before you so I need to sort that out but the Placette is even more perfect than the CJ and they go for $1595 these days. I would do the Placette at $900 if you took the CJ at $1200. The Placette is incredibly neutral. If you want your preamp to add something then it's not for you.

I would have called this amp a 9/10 if it were newer. You will not find a more perfect unit of this age, the pictures do not do it justice and there are no known issues. It has never failed to function perfectly. The back view of the amp in the photo shows some marks on the transformers which were apparently just some smudges. The only cosmetic defect I can see are some marks on the speaker output terminals. This amp has very low hours for it's age and has always performed flawlessly. I know I am on the low side of price for a unit like this but I am motivated to sell quickly because I am downsizing and going to a tube integrated. I also have for sale but have not listed a yet CJ EV-1 tube phono preamp and Placette passive preamp both from 2004 which are both in 9/10 condition. The Placette is particularly amazing with the C-J 11-A because the high sensitivity of the amp. It's like not having a preamp in the signal path but with the best volume control ever made.
