Conrad Johnson Premier 16LS mkII

Fantastic Full Bodied CJ Pre amp Serial Number 2901119. This was originally a Series1 upgraded to Series 2 by CJ on 11/12/09. Conservatively rated an 8. I can find no nicks dings or scratches anywhere on the unit. Worked flawlessly prior to upgrade, has been flawless ever since. Upgrade consisted of various resistors being changed and changing internal wiring from silver to Cardas if memory serves. Contact CJ for details. I recently lost my mind and bought a GAT that showed up in the local area, hence the sale. 
If you are a fan of musicality over detail retrieval and speed, seriously consider the 16 before purchasing anything built after it and before the GAT. There is a harmonic richness that the 16 has that the other preamps do not. They are faster and more detailed but IMO without the weight and tonal balance the 16 offers. Full disclosure: I was using NOS Siemmens Rohrs and NOS Tungsrams. Your mileage may vary depending on the tubes you choose. Don't be put off by rumors you hear about CJ being hard on tubes. I've been using the above mentioned tubes for almost 10 years without a problem, and the guy I got the GAT from had one tube problem in 40 years of owning CJ gear. He had a 16 also at one point. A new set of Electro Harmonix 6922s can be had from CJ for $255 plus $30 for shipping and is included at the asking price. If you want something else we can discuss it once we agree on a price. Upscale Audio has some tasty NOS Telefunkens for $189 a piece last time I looked.
CJ is also offering a Teflon upgrade to the caps in the audio circuit for $1500 vs the $6000 plus for doing them all. Jeff Fischel said 3 people have done this upgrade this year and have been very pleased with the results. Possibly a best of both worlds scenario. Unfortunately, I need to sell this to do the Teflon upgrade on my Premier 12s.
