Eastern Electric MiniMax BBA

This was purchased directly from Bill at Morningstar Audio as a demo
unit - serial number 0760610 - in 2008. In addition to the the
standard tubes, I also purchased, upon Bill's recommendation, 2 AWA
6BM8/ECL82 NOS Thorn Japanese tube and 1 Tung-sol 6X4 Big wavy D shaped

I was originally going to use it as a tube buffer between my cd player
and pre-pro in my home theater system. However, since it needs to be
turned on and off manually, it wasn't user friendly enough for my
family, although everyone did think it improved the sound. I then
planned to use as an tube amplifier for an office system, but never got
around to purchasing the other components. So, this unit has not seen
much use since I purchased it. Now that I moved into a smaller place, I'm trying to
sell various pieces of audio equipment, and decided that this one needs a
new home.

The EE BBA caused quite a stir when it was first introduced with several
excellent professional reviews as well as much buzz on various forums.
It has been described as the "The Universal Audio Interface that is
the missing link in any chain of audio components". It is mainly
designed so that owners can better match input and output impedances,
differing input sensitivities, etc. between separate audio components in
their systems. The BBA can be used to deliver an optimal electrical
match between components. For example, it can be placed between a CD
player, DAC, Tuner, or phono preamp and a preamplifier or receiver; or
between a preamplifier and a power amplifier. It is designed to will
work with audio components having input impedances ranging from 100k ohm
to 600 ohm, and with input sensitivities from under 100mV up to 10V.
The buffering circuitry uses two 6BM8/ECL82 combined triode/pentode and
one 6X4/EZ90/U707 rectifier tube and has its own active volume control.
Since it has only one input and output, some people have purchased
several for use in multi-channel audio system.
