Electra-Fidelity (Electra-Print) Single-Ended EL34

Audiogon, no offense, but WTF is wrong with you? How is it that this amplifier has not sold?

Five years ago, you could be counted on to have some common sense. You gobbled up good gear at decent prices. Not anymore! I am saddened.

However, ironically, this time I'm happy you've gone bad, as I've decided to keep the amp. It's fabulous with my new speakers!

Electra-Fidelity makes some of the best transformers in the world and some of the best tube amps as well. Their designer has had true breakthroughs in circuits; they are a truly special breed.

This is a single-ended amp good for about 12W (it sounds very powerful). It has the sweetness of SE tubes but very wide bandwidth and exceptionally low noise and distortion.

The circuit is described thus: "Iso-Linear circuit, in which the 12AT7 input, the EL34 output, and the output transformer interact in such a way as to cause a null in IMD at the bias voltage. The output transformer has higher primary input impedance than any other known application."

(IMD is the hidden bugaboo in SE tube amps and E-F has found a unique way to greatly reduce it.

The amp is quite attractive, with a gloss black base, and red transformers (the power and output transformers are all truly massive).

This one has Black Diamond Racing cone feet as well.

Tubes are stock (EL34s are JJ). I believe packing is factory but has a DIY feel.
