I have the XXX (300B SET) amp with C-Core's and IE transformers and I have the XXX (6SN7 Preamp) with similar transformers; as I learned from listening to them with the Mummy's, they are excellent-sounding. But the Algonquin outdoes them both. I think it's because the Algonquin lets me experience the feeling in voices and instruments; with the XXX I can hear the voices and instruments but the feeling just doesn't come across.

What you have done with transformers and EL84 tubes is magical. Getting all the design elements to work as a team is a job for a skilled and talented designer: that's you! And let's not forget that you sell at reasonable prices ( people expect to pay many thousands when they go looking for an amp with magical qualities). "
