I realize that there are very many choices out there for buffer amps/equipment. I also realize that a few of them are not representing the best quality that should be used. I have owned a lot of equipment in my time, mostly the high dollar brands for many years. Then I looked into making products that I needed for myself, and found that I could compete with many of those products that were high priced just for the name tag on the item. I still have plenty of respect for a lot of the companies that make these products, but I am offering units such as these to encourage people who don't want to spend the big bucks, but would like to have a taste of good quality sound. This is a good way to go. Just look at my feedback here. I have been doing this for years, and I am not happy until my customers are.
This is a buffer amp designed after the famous Musical Fidelity X10 series of products. I n this case, I have already equipped the unit with upgraded parts to give it a head start in performance. Rather than 500 ma transformer, I just 'amped it up' to a 1,000 ma transformer for best bass performance. Rather than 'stock' capacitors, resistors, and RCA jacks, I used the highest quality that I could get my hands on, and what sounds best. Even the tubes are included, and I doubt that it will do much good to tube roll, trying to find the best sound, because these are 'Bugle Boy' tubes that are famous for the musical presentation that they are capable of. The cigar box is special in that the paint is near perfect, and classy looking. Brass hardware and silver plated signal wires are used throughout. This is a handcrafted unit, NOT 'home made' by any means. Attention to detail speaks for itself in the photos.
Questions always welcome.
