This is a tube preamplifier which can also be used as a headphone amplifier. It is less then a year old. In brand new condition with box and manual and I am the first owner. It had 3 gain stages to customize to your system. Gain stages give you the flexibility for more or less tube-like sound. Sam Tellig at Stereophile highly recommends this unit and I agree with his comments. I am consolidating my system before I move. Cash Pick up only in NYC.
