Up for sale is a pair
of McIntosh MC40 monoblock tube power amplifiers.  These amps are in museum condition and I believe
are some of the finest condition 1960’s McIntosh tube amps anywhere.  Consecutive serial numbers (327 & 328).
This is a true matched pair of monoblocks that have been together since day 1.
This is an investment grade pair of amplifiers that will only appreciate over
time.

I purchased these amplifiers from a massive audio collector
in Milwaukee, Wisconsin who had over 30 pieces of McIntosh tube gear at one
point. After selling off his collection for financial reasons these were the
last amps he kept as they were his favorite. I purchased them off him a few
years ago.

Flawless chassis lettering, bright chrome,
perfect paint. You just don't see McIntosh tube amps like these. All tubes in
these amps are vintage and the same brand as original. They all test strong on
a calibrated and maintained Hickok 799 tube tester. Outputs are RCA black plate
6L6GC, 4 12AX7's are Telefunken, 2 12AU7's are Telefunken and 12BH7's are RCA.

As you can see from the pictures
condition is nothing short of immaculate.

Since I purchased these amps I have
enjoyed hours of listening without a single hiccup.  Although I
have never personally taken the bottom cover off these amplifiers the former
owned claimed they were 100% original electrically.  These amps have never sat unused for a long
period. The last owner of 30 years powered them up at least once a year with a
variac. I have always powered them up with a varaic in an effort to preserve
these original caps.

As of now I am only offering
these amps as local pickup. If there is no local interest I will consider
shipping.  Cash only.  I have not done any selling on Audiogon before but have sold
hundreds of pieces of vintage audio gear on eBay.  Please checkout my eBay

Questions for the seller
Do you have cages for these amps
No I do not have cages. I believe McIntosh sent the tubes cages only if you filled out and sent in the amplifier registration forms
Hi David, I just made an offer on your MC40's. I may have a friend who lives in Chicago that could pk-up locally and ship to me in Napa, CA thanks, JR
Hey Jeff, Thank you for your interest. I'd much so prefer to have your friend pick them up for you. I'd be happy to demo them for him. For local pickup I'd need to have a cash payment. If you could do $4,150 to cover my audiogon seller fees we could have a deal! If you have any questions feel free to give me a [filtered] [filtered]. Thanks, Ryan
