Selling my mint condition LS36.5. I am the original owner and unit was purchased on Jan 13, 2017.  The linestage is not fully broken-in, no more than 250 hours on tubes. A pair of Russian Sovtek 6H30 super tubes and one 5AR4 rectifier tube is included with the unit.

Please note, the linestage has 4 single ended inputs and dual balanced outputs. This unit has been customized by Modwright to accommodate subwoofer or bi-amping hookups. You can connect any subwoofer with stereo XLR inputs, like JL Audio F series. The dual outputs can also be used for vertical / horizontal bi-amping.  Of course, if you prefer to have the original XLR input instead, I can send the unit back to Modwright and have it shipped to you with original factory settings at my own expense. IMO, the dual balanced outputs make this Linestage even more versatile.

The XLR input on stock LS36.5 is not a balanced input. It's a single ended input with a XLR jack. However, the XLR outputs are transformer coupled and fully balanced.  So it made sense to me to enhance the functionality of this already excellent Linestage by converting a 'cosmetic' XLR input to a balanced output for bi-amping and subwoofer connectivity.  My JL audio f212v2 sounded superb using balanced outputs.

Also see my ad for Modwright KWA150SE for impeccable pairing.

Here is a brief description on second balanced output by Dan Wright ~
To accommodate a subwoofer with balanced inputs and bi-amping, the best option would be to configure the XLR inputs as a second pair of fully balanced XLR outputs. We would change the 'gender' of the XLR to an output. This would give you one less input, but a pair of fully balanced outputs, wired in parallel.

Features:

  • Four sets of RCA inputs

  • Two sets of RCA Main Outputs

  • One set of RCA Tape Outputs

  • Two sets of XLR balanced outputs

  • Front Panel controls include: Power, Input Select and Mute, Phase (also on remote), HT/BP

  • (Home Theater Bypass) and volume control (also on remote)

  • Custom MWI remote control for volume, phase and mute.
