I have TWO NAD 214s. These a great 15 yr old-ish (i can give you thew S/Ns and you can check with NAD on production dates) high current very powerful amps that routinely test over their rated power of 80w/ch in 8 ohms to more than 120w and 250w into 4 Ohms bridged. . Smooth and quick for the price with real guts. One I've had since new and the other I bought a few years ago ago I could bridge them. One is in very good to excellent condition and works fine - just bench tested. The second DOES NOT WORK. It immediately shuts down on warm-up - it also has quite a few scratches and dings but you only notice them up close. I am sure it is fixable. Until this happened I never had ANY reliability or sound issues for ALL of my ownership of both.
I have upgraded my Klipsch RF35s to Magnepan 1.7is and feel I need more power but have tight budget after the (admittedly) very great value Maggies - so I bought the Emotiva XPA Gen3.
