Raleigh Audio Mood Indigo Line Preamplifier (K&K Audio)

This is an early version of a Raleigh Audio Line Stage Preamplifier with remote at that time named Mood Indigo based in Raleigh NC. Now associated with K&K Audio. The Input and Output Transformers, Lundahl LL
1674, provide a balanced input and output to a parafeed circuit using the 6N1P tube.

The preamp sounded very nice a I received it, but had very little depth and sound stage. I contacted Dave Davenport (Raleigh Audio) who suggested that if inclined I should change some resistors and update from the Cardas output capacitors; this based upon evolving design considerations since this unit was produced. He used Kiwame and Mills resistors in this unit, but recommended I try some tantalum, carbon comps in the right spot, eliminate the wire-wound and go to Mundorf caps.

I made the resistor changes with a nice result. Then I changed the Cardas caps to Mundorf Supreme. That helped a lot and I listened for a long time this way.

Ultimately, I decided it was not as good as I wanted, so I changed the tantalum to Vishay Metal Foils. PRESTO! Now sounds amazing! Highs, Lows, Midrange, Air, Depth --- All There!
The preamp uses the 6N1P tube. You will receive

In addition you will receive the resistors, Kiwame, Mills, Tantalum, etc., that survived the removal process, and the original Cardas caps.
There are 6 inputs, one balanced and one Direct Home Theater which was excellent for my tuner which has it’s own volume control.
The remote is a simple plastic small unit that controls volume and Mute, but does not change input. (2 AAA included)

The preamp is in very good to excellent condition, easy 8. Blue led. Mute delay during warm-up for noise free start. Includes original box & manual.
