I purchased this amplifier while living in Switzerland. It's in absolute pristine condition. Since it's almost 60 years old I took the important precautions of having the old capacitors and selenium rectifiers replaced with modern equivalents. It has been professionally checked for all functions. All tubes have been replaced with Phips Mini-watt, new old stock. It has NOT been stripped of its original tubes and switched with cheap replacements.
The other important facts:
Excellent phono pre-amp section with modern RIAA.
Four inputs. Radio 1, Radio 2, Tape, and Phono. Phono is for moving magnet cartridges and has RIAA equalization. Radio 1&2 are high sensitivity line level inputs. Tape is lower sensitivity line level input. RMS rated output is 10 watts per channel with 3 db of power reserve. 4 - 8 -- 16 ohm internal taps.
Speaker connections are standard banana plug, although they might not look like it.
All switches and controls have been cleaned and checked for any noise, none.
Bass and treble control is +/- 12 db in 4 db steps.
Balance control is +/- 10 dB left/right.
Tubes are: 4 @ ECL86, 3 @ ECC81, 1 @ ECC83.
Voltages: 110, 125 150, 220 at 50 or 60 cycles.
Dimensions: 15 X 10 X 5 inches, 39 X 26 X 12 cm.
Now you can do your comparisons and see if the other Model 40's have been updated to modern safety standards with new tubes and in such pristine condition!
