Legendary Shindo sound! Excellent condition. Sparingly used for less than 2 years.
If bought for the "buy it now" price, I will supply it with a wide choice of very lightly used premium NOS tubes: 1 pair each of PCL86 / 14GW8 from Telefunken, Mullard, Phillips, and original tubes, as well as NOS 6X4 / EZ90 rectifiers from GEC (UK) and Mazda (France) and original rectifier.
Saying about a legendary beautiful sound, it is not an exaggeration. I haven't heard a system (and I have tried it in my friends' systems, and with my numerous systems - both tube and solid state), in which the little Shindo hasn't performed a small miracle, increasing the tonal density, plasticity and overall musicality to a great degree. Most importantly, it never worsened the sound - when I remove it from the signal path, there may be a very slight gain in transparency, but the sound gets robbed of so much harmonic beauty and musicality, that I can't do without it. And it had no genre preferences - it is equally good with jazz, heavy metal, rock, large symphonic orchestras, chamber music, and even pop. I used it in systems which normally don't need a preamp (DACs with volume control like NAD M51, integrateds like WAVAC MD-811, etc), but it always provided a huge increase in satisfaction when inserted in the signal path. Plus the preamp looks very attractive, is cheap to retube (only 3 tubes - two PCL86 / 14GW8, and one 6X4 / EZ90), and has small power consumption so it can be left always on without breaking the bank. Also, it was made while Ken Shindo was still alive and is supposedly a bit better than what is now produced without him.
Now to the drawbacks - the little preamp is perfect, but for one thing - it doesn't have a remote volume control. That is the ONLY reason I sell it. I would certainly get a more expensive Shindo pre if any of them had remotes, but they don't. Instead they have expensive phonostages I don't need. Now I'm getting a remote controlled Manley 300B preamp, but I'm afraid it can't compete with my little Shindo sonically.
Attention! EUROPEAN MAINS VOLTAGE - 230V! (also works fine with British 240V and Russian 220V). I am sure it can be converted to 110V, but it also can easily be used with 230V to 110V transformer.
For Paypal payments add 3%. Worldwide shipping is covered by the buyer, which should be around from $120 to 200 depending on your location.
P.S. I don't accept returns. The preamp is very mint, perfectly functional, and will be very safely packed. I'm pretty sure nothing can happen to it unless an asteroid falls on it directly, and that would be out of my responsibility))))
