Silvercore Transformer coupled, input and output, tube preamp, separate power supply--price reduced

Selling a rare Silvercore transformer coupled tube preamp. Silvercore is well known for its transformer coupled preamps and for its mc transformers and even their their cheapest model was highly rated by Stereophile--their most expensive mc transformer lists at over $4000 and is worth every penny (I use them in my phono preamp, and they handily beat some of the "big names" in tonal quality, speed, and especially quiet ) This preamp features Silvercore's pure silver wired transformer volume controls, an ECC 99 tube stage, and Silvercore's amorphous core output transformers. It has a massive outboard tube power supply. Three inputs, RCA only. Two outputs, one pair of stereo RCAs and the other a single stereo XLR, true balanced operation. (the XLR is wired in place of the former headphone jack, and is a single XLR output to stereo XLR cables--I will include the cables I made from Bear Labs interconnect that are wired stereo XLR to mono XLRs, although they are not pretty. The volume control has 24 settings.

This was built by and sold by Silvercore as a complete product, and is not a kit. The only part built by me is the XLR output (and I have the headphone output if you want to switch it back). Silvercore apparently does not offer this product any longer, except in kit form. Information is available on the German Silvercore web site (Silvercore.de--google will provide an automatic translation for non-German speakers) under "Rohrenverstarker," and you can also check out their full line--this is virtually the same as their "Reference" preamp, except for the cosmetics, as far as I can tell. I have used this for around 6 years, and preferred it every preamp I had tried before it, including, Audio Research, Lyra Connoisseur, Klyne, and Messenger, and to some I've probably forgotten. Tinnitus and age have taken a toll on my listening enjoyment, however, so I am offering this for sale.
