LESS THAN 7 DAYS TO GO!! These have been here long enough.   At the end of this listing period, these amps will be trashed.   A few of the components will be removed for later use, most will be torched to make them not usable, and transformers [with leads cut short] and chassis/bottom plates, will go to a recycler.   Until this ad ends, here is one final offer for present Beast owners to consider:  all available tubes, "O" ring dampers, and fuses for $650.00 lot price, plus shipping. EL509S: 0 new / 31 used, each with 4 rings, plus 4 more rings for a 32nd tube; 12AX7: 2 new / 2 used; 12AT7: 0 new / 6 used; 12BH7: 4 new / 4 used; enough small rings for 2 on each small tube in use; 1 amp tube pair fuses: approx. 19 pieces, standard; 8 amp main fuses: approx. 4 pcs. standard / 2 pcs. Hi-Fi Tuning.

Note that these are the slightly earlier version than are currently shown on the Transcendent Sound website.   These have the expensive custom wound transformers for B+, which makes these amps rated at 160 watts each.
I purchased this pair as kits in 2007.   They have the only original option, XLR balanced inputs in addition to the unbalanced RCA inputs.  This goes through a transformer, and this makes possible the second RCA input, which also goes through the transformer to provide a floating unbalanced input as a way to avoid ground loops.   I have used these amps in a few different situations, and have always found this floating unbalanced input to be better for lowest noise.
There were many parts upgrades during original construction: better diodes, better caps (Nichicon, Relcap. Black Gate, Clarity).   Most caps were fitted with bypass caps.   There are caps added at the IEC jack for some line filtering.  There is a grounded strip of ERS material around the IEC jack, and most of the way around the inside of the chassis.   The power switch is now on the rear near the IEC jack.
Presently fitted are Sovtek 12AX7LPS (two new ones included), Electro Harmonix 12AT7 ( one used of the same, plus three used Psavane 12AT7 included), and EH 12BH7A  (two unmatched Sylvania 12BH7A, and 4 new TAD 12BH7A-STR included).   The main fuses are Hi-Fi tuning ones (some standard manufacture spares included).   The tube fault fuses are standard manufacture 1 amp (some spares included).  A main fuse has never blown.  The tube fault fuses generally do their correct function, but were not effective when one of the output tubes developed an internal short from pin 4 to pin 5.   By the time I found the problem, some of the 1K ohm/5 watt resistors had sacrificed themselves.   I replaced them, and all is now OK (some more of these resistors included).  Also included, but not installed, are enough 100 ohm/5watt  resistors to replace the 1K ohm ones; this, from what I have read in the TS Forum, now causes the tube fault fuses to do their correct protective function when an output tube has an internal pin 4/pin 5 short.  When I was attempting to find the problem, I moved many output tubes to different sockets.   In the process, the plastic center orienting pin on a few tubes came off.   The tubes are still good.   Not all 8 pins are on the socket, only those that actually connect to tube internals, and the inked markings on the glass are in the identical relation to the pins.   All tubes are fitted with damping rings, 2 on each small tube and 4 on each output tube.
Price includes two Emotiva CMX-2 line filters, one for each amp.
DO NOT CONSIDER THIS PAIR OF AMPS IF YOU HAVE NO EXPERIENCE IN THE HANDLING AND DIAGNOSTICS OF THESE CIRCUITS!!!    Plan to do circuit tracing and voltage measurements.   Yes, the schematics are included. Will ship in 3 or 4 boxes, total weight approximately 100 pounds.
