Tube Audio Lab/Western Electric WE91 300B Sophia Output Transformers

This is a Tube Audio Lab WE91 300B amp in like-new condition - it's rated 7/10 for the DIY nature of Min's builds. It's not audio jewelry (though it looks quite fine - I love the industrial look!) and sounds fantastic.

The amp has some serious iron in the form of Sophia 91-03 output transformers - which are $800/pr alone!) - and huge power transformer and choke. And then there are those huge oil caps for that silky smooth treble.

I bought the amp from the original owner - a well-known former audio reviewer - who had it for several years but used it little in his second system (his primary system is all Shindo and probably 10x the cost).

I also bought one of Min's earlier 91A 300B amps (monos) back eight years ago or so. I loved those amps and tried to buy them back from the gentleman I sold them to, but he likes them too much (with Audio Note AN/Es). I waited a long time to see another used one. This one is probably even better due to the iron quality.

The 91A circuit is known for being very big and ballsy, yet very smooth and refined. The amp has only two stages which is rare for a 300B amp (yet it still has plenty of gain). The reason most 45/2A3 amps are better than 300Bs is that the latter almost always have three stages. The pentode driver/triode output stage has some very attractive distortion-canceling attributes to boot.

The 300Bs are nearly-new Sophia mesh plates and the drivers NOS 6C6, with a spare tube also.
