excellent performing line stage pre-amp by VAC (Kevin Hayes).
This unit was upgraded by VAC to "signature" with modest updates to caps, wiring and circuit tweaks to raise the performance bar even higher.

It' has been an EXCELLENT all around performer in my various systems. I used it primarily with VAC PA160MKII Mono amps but also with a McIntosh MC225, Musical Fidelity X-A200 Mono amps, and with my Audire Otez stereo amp.
The upgrade bug bit and I acquired a new ( to me) Tube preamp . This VAC tube Preamp is in excellent working condition. Sonically it performs as great as the day I bought it (second owner). The unit has some minor blemishes, including wear/discoloration around the volume knob etc.
This pre-amp has outperformed several other tube pre-amps that I've owned from CARY, BAT, Conrad Johnson, Primaluna, and others. they were all great units, I just thought the VAC was just a better fit in my system as it was the most neutral and simply allowed the recordings to sound as intended by the artists and engineer.

The unit will packed to withstand "rough handling by ups" - Primary barrier protection is 1" thick insulation foam ( all sides bottom and top) I don't use packing peanuts outside of filling gaps, if ever.
