Up for your consideration are matched pair of WHITE LABEL Amperex 7308/E188CC USN-CEP vacuum tubes with gold pins. These are Made in USA in 1964.

These highly sought-after (with a good reason) White Label 7308's are made for US Navy, and they are exactly the same tubes as Amperex White Label PQ 7308 tubes. (only with tighter and more stringent military spec)

They have "VR" code which indicates 7308 type tubes.
Etched Date Codes: VR5*4C (March 1964) & VR5*4E (May 1964).
Etched number on tubes: 412 & 420 (12th and 20th week of 1964, only 8 weeks apart).

All tubes are tested by Hickok 539C vacuum tube tester. This tester was precision calibrated by Roger Kennedy to improve measurement accuracy. 83 and 5Y3 tubes were replaced by Solid State rectifiers to minimize calibration drift in the tester.

All tubes are installed into an actual audio circuit to screen them for internal tube noise/micorphonics. This is especially important with the 6DJ8/6922/7308 tubes. Excessively noisy or/and microphonic tube issues would make them unsuitable for usage in a phono stage or in high-gain line stage preamps.

Music Reference RM-4 pre-preamp (moving coil head amp with 30 db gain) is used for "in circuit"/real world noise/microphonic testing. This unit uses two 6DJ8/6922/7308 vacuum tubes. Each channel uses both triode sections making it ideal tool for noise/microphonic testing of both triode sections.
