Emission Labs 20A Mesh Plate

These tubes were purchased about 4 months ago. They barely have 50 hours of break-in on them. They were purchased from Tubes USA. The sound is pretty much what is to be expected from a mesh plate tube. A little softer than the solid plate 20B's that I use in my amps and preamps. Perhaps a little more bloom and romance. A search for Emission labs 45 or 300b mesh plate sound comparisons will give you a very good idea as to the overall sound you will get. It is just not a good mix with my system as I use a tube (20b) preamp and a 20b driving a 300b pair of monoblocks. If you have not used the tube before the Emission Labs website will give you the operating parameters especially the heater circuit. The circuit I use has a very slow start-up on the heater voltage of 80 seconds as well as a time delay on the B+ voltage so very low stress has been put on the tubes.
