The absolute top of the line Braun turntable designed by the famous Braun designer Dieter Rams - this is a classic among classics ! Although the photos will show where the cosmetics could be improved, overall this table is in amazing cosmetic, and mechanical, condition. it plays 331/3's, 45's & 78's! And it also has a Grado Black cartridge installed from the previous owner, so I do not know how many hours are on it. I purchased this fairly recently with the intent to have a nice wooden surround built to cover the inadequate wood applique done, which is the only significant area keeping it from being a showpiece. I have used the table and it sound incredibly good, at least on par with the Marantz (clearaudio) table presently in my main system. I am not a technically inclined audiophile, but it is clear that this table has been extremely carefully maintained. It works very well, but as a vintage piece might it need some work done in the future ? No doubt it will, but it is good to go right now. If I were skillful enough to do the wood surround myself I would do so, but my skill set does not go in that direction. The acrylic dustcover is not shown but it is in really good condition; no real scratches and it hinges on the two slots shown in the photo of the rear of the able, and works properlyOther priorities right now necessitate putting this beautiful up for sale. There is one on ebay right now at a higher price; but I am not an ebay guy, and would greatly prefer that a fellow audiogoner inherited this marvel. I would be happy to address questions, and will do so as I am able. I am NOT tho an expert on the Braun tables, I just had to have this piece when it became available. It is a metal plinth, and so very substantial in weight, so shipping will not be cheap. There are some faint marks on the metal but it is vert, very presentable. So the 5 is very conservative for the marks and the chipped wood on the one side. Thanks for looking.
