For sale: Brinkmann Lagrange turntable with Brinkmann 10.5 tonearm and Brinkmann EMT cartridge (mega cover not included)
Also includes Townshend seismic sink stand will throw in a pair of matching Townshend speaker stands too - but only for local pickup
Accompanied by PS Audio GCPH photo stage (Cullen modified) - Cullen was the original designer of the stock GCPH and produced much more expensive hot-rodded versions on the side. Big step up from the standard model which was already a what hi-fi 5* award winner (FWIW). It takes standard phono and earth connectors to operate in balanced mode internally with either single ended or balanced outputs. It has a volume control and very high quality output stage that will drive a power amp or active crossover direct (I did the latter). It strongly favours balanced systems and works well into Bryston power amps. It has been setup for 600 ohms and 330pf loading as suits the EMT design and a somewhat unusual load for an MC. This cartridge is very sensitive to loading and will sound very peaky at 100 ohms and 0 pf.
I will also include a custom made and very high quality balanced switch to allow you to swap between another balanced and volume controlled source like a dac which will allow you to do without a pre-amp altogether if you so desire. This gives a big step up in performance. Direct to my active crossovers the GCPH easily outperformed a TEAD groove / vibe combination which is a very serious set-up.
Ancillaries include an audio technica stylus cleaner, a complete set of wally tools and a Racal dana frequency meter that will allow to set the deck speed to around about 1-2 Hz or so. Photos on request. Based in Eastbourne, UK.
