This sale is for a Mission 775s turntable with a 774 (original version) tonearm. This is a fantastic combination, they blend together very nicely. The turntable is a belt drive system with very heavy platter which does a great job to damp the sound. The original 774 tonearm was designed by John Bicht and indeed he did a wonderful job with it. The tonearm has a detachable alloy arm tube which I fiend it very useful to change cartridges easily. This arm has has very rigid bearing design with low effective mass and minimal pivot friction. The arm also employs a damping system which is suppose to be good with some cartridges, I fiend the damping system not very useful, I tried it with number of cartridge and in the end I came to conclusion better not to use it. This is a long tonearm, total of 229mm which gives you more flexibility with some cartridges.
The condition of the tonearm and the turntable are in excellent shape, cosmetically in overall looks great, the dust cover also is in real good condition, with very few tiny scratches not easily detectable.
Currently I have a cartridge mounted which is not part of the sale, I do have the Mission record clamp which is included with the sale. I also have the Mission Sorbomat which I am including with this sale, the mat was optional and and I believe it cost over $75.00.
