For sale is my Oracle Delphi turntable. I am the second owner. Originally this was a Mk I, the previous owner has upgraded this to mostly Mk V specification. The parts making up the turntable are as follows:
Mk V:
- AC motor and controller
- Thick acrylic base (plinth)
- Suspension posts/towers
- Acrylic platter mat
- Custom updated main bearing for platter, from a specialist in Florida.
- Oracle Turbo power supply
- Floating aluminium chassis
- Platter
- Aluminium screw-down record clamp
Note: NO tonearm or cartridge.
Extra Parts:
- Alloy tonearm mount (fits an Origin-Live modified Rega RB250 tonearm with custom VTA adjuster).
- Suspension springs with different rates.
- Suspension cones for springs.
- One extra conical mounting foot.
- Custom Delrin record clamp (from Florida).
- Original cover hinge mounts (NO cover or hinges).
- Original platter isolator rubber ring.
- Oracle calibrator for platter (speed strobe markings, cartridge alignment markings).
- Original Mk I literature, plus copies of later (Mk III, Mk IV, and Mk V) literature.
I have owned this turntable for over 15 years. It runs great and sounds fabulous. The only negative is the cosmetic appearance. It looks good from a distance, the acrylic base and the motor/controller are in excellent condition. However the clear finish has lifted in some areas on the suspension pillars and the platter. The alloy record clamp appears dull gray. There are also two shallow grooves filed into the floating chassis near the tonearm mount. I bought the turntable in this condition and it has not deteriorated since. See photos. You could probably strip the finish and recoat it, I never bothered.
The new owner will need to tune the suspension for their tonearm. Instructions are included in the Mk V literature, and probably online somewhere.
Will be packed carefully and double-boxed for shipping. The suspended chassis will be blocked to prevent movement. Shipping to the lower 48 states only, unless arranged before auction finishes.
