Rega P9 With Apheta and Extras

Offered here is used but great condition Rega P9 turntable with some nice extras. I bought the P9 from a former Sound Org (their distributor) employee about 8 years ago and I am the second owner. Some extras included here are a very usable Rega Apheta cartridge. I do not know how many hours are on it, but it is working well and certainly has some life in it. Also the upgraded Tungsten counterweight (about $100 new), 2 of the upgraded white rubber belts that are less than a year old, and a cherry plinth is included in addition to the black one that is currently on the unit (I will switch if the buyer wants). Full disclosure: The arm has been rewired. Rega wiring is notoriously fragile, and the original broke so I sent it to a specialist and had it rewired with an appropriate level of wire. The RCA plugs has been replaced, one soldier joint came loose on the originals and needed to be replaced. There are a few marks on the platter, see photos, no chips or cracks. Lastly the head shell has a slight angle to it. Look closely at the photos and you will see a very thin brass washer I put in there as a shim. I didn't notice this when I first got the unit, but when I removed the cartridge to send it off to rewire, I saw it and added the shim when I reinstalled the cartridge. I use the Cardas Sweep test record and I do not hear ill effect from this slight issue. Also included is the original dust cover, I never used it, its still in the box and probably perfect. Original boxes are included, and will be double boxed for shipping. This P9 sounds great and I have upgraded to the RP10, which is great of course but not night and day. This P9 is a superb deck and will bring lots of enjoyment! Buyer to pay PayPal fees and shipping. Shipping calculator does not allow for the fact that this will be a 3 box shipment, 3rd box for the extra plinth. Do not go by the numbers in the estimate, it will be more. Bluebook value on this is $2750.
