I am selling a near mint VPI Prime and anyone in the market for a sub 10k turntable must be familiar with the Prime or at the very least it deserves a serious look at what it has to offer. The VPI Prime is often compared to turntables that are at least twice its price. I recently upgraded to an Avenger Reference which is the reason why I am selling my Prime. Yes the Avenger Reference is a step up from the Prime but it literally took me 5 times the $$$ to make any serious improvement and even with that it was a tough choice $$$. The Prime does not only give you a taste of the Avenger Reference, instead it gives you a huge chunk of the more expensive turntables in general. It's very easy to compliment and talk about the Prime I can keep going, but I'm sure you'll find plenty of reviews.
The tonearm was recently replaced by my VPI dealer with their most recent version of its 3D printing process, it's designed so that it's not affected by higher than average room temperature that it may be exposed to. The new tonearm has less than 10 hours, it sounded great even without fully breaking in the cable.
I am also including an IFI iPhono as part of this sale. The Prime will be packed using the original box including all the accessories and manual that it came with. It also comes with an HRX center weight and not the delrin stainless version. I could not tell any difference with the sound between the two center weight/clamp, but I preferred the HRX for its convenience not requiring to be screwed down.
I rated the condition 9/10 based on the Audiogon policy even though I could not find any scratches or wear. The Prime with its new tonearm is the closest you can get to buying a new one.
Serious buyers that have questions that needs my immediate response can call or text me at 646-483-5751 otherwise I normally try to check at least once a day.
Thank you for checking out my listing. Cheers!
