Alto-Extremo from Germany, finally back in the US, is celebrating their 10th anniversary and has made great improvements to optimize resonance transfer with a wide range of absorber feet.

When used properly, Alto-Extremo's absorbers create unprecedented sound quality with better three-dimensionality, clearly defined instruments and outstanding dynamics. Alto-Extremo strive to make their absorbers as flexible as possible so that they deliver optimal results regardless of how you use them (see Alto-Extremo's absorber chart picture).

Alto-Extremo Lyd I

Alto-Extremo's most successful absorber can be used optimally in every system. The superior design with precision brass interior components and stainless steel exterior parts, as well as the two damper rings, create excellent resonance transfer without allowing any vibrations to reach the base of the device. This function is necessary for higher bass precision and for an open and clearly distinguishable sound profile.

Customer feedback:
"...I have the Alto-Extremo under everything and have to say they are quite amazing... until the Alto-Extremo footers (Lyd II & Fat-Boy) I never realized how much distortion from vibrations was affecting the violins..."

"...anyone who wants the highest quality isolations devices get Alto-Extremo. Phenomenal. Highly recommend."

"...these, my second set of Lyd II, this set placed under my turntable, increased the clarity and speed of the set up. Like switching to a London, after using a MM or MC. Quite profound & illuminating the effect of these remarkable devices!"

"...the rubber ring is in fact part of the 'magic' of the Lyd II, it gives the Lyd II a more soothing sound, although less accurate. So for me, the Lyd II proves to be a much better buy than the more expensive Finite Elemente."

"...I wanted to let you know that after three weeks of listening with the Alto-Extremo Lyd I absorbers under my von Schweirkert speakers, the sonic effects are quite positive. Less smearing of the mid-range, tighter bass, etc. Although pricey, excellent product with significant results. They should be recommended by the speaker manufacturer, esp. for wooden floors."

"...This is my fourth set of Alto Extremo, a Fat Boy this time, and I have tried the Lyd I, II, and Exact.... I am so happy about the resulting sound improvement."

"...these feet/absorbers (Lyd II) are in a class of their own, so obvious is their ability to reduce feedback. 5 Stars!!!!! Indispensable!"

The Lyd Technology

Lyd technology makes these absorbers very flexible. With the outer damping ring the absorber’s effect is magnified. Try the absorber with the damping ring on the device as well as on the surface itself. Try the absorber with the damping ring side to the ground and you minimize vibrations from the device and disconnect the ground. If you use the absorber with the damping ring side to the device you disconnect the device and minimize vibrations from the ground.

The self-adjusting puck compensates for uneven floor surfaces. The inner component is flexible. They can tilt to the side, if the floor is uneven. If you have an older wooden floor or a uneven tile ground, the Lyd I, Lyd II and Exact can compensate that. That's no height adjustment.
