Unison Research UNICO Integrated w/phono

Like Brand New In The BOX! One look and there is no doubt this personal unit of mine has been in the box for 8-9 years, only used when new for approx. 6 months. I use to have a nasty habit of buying audio equipment and not using it, and this is the last of items I need to clear out of a closet. I reopened the box to check if it was the model that had the phono section. It is, and I also discovered the original signal tubes which reminded me I had replaced them.

The classic that put Unison Research on the map. A combination of pure triode valve input stage (two twin triode ECC 82 valves) and Mosfet output stage gives 80W per channel into 8ohms. The output stage features Unison Research's improved dynamic Class A symmetrical configuration. This combination of technology combines musical power and grip with the lyricism and transparency of a well designed valve amplifier. Robustly built and with a look of understated elegance, the Unico is every inch a class product that will fit into any domestic environment. It comes complete with radio wave remote control. The Unico was available in line or line plus phono (MC/MM) versions. This is the plus phono version.

Awarded five stars by What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision (June 2003), who described it as "an absolute peach of an amplifier", it is a stereo integrated design using both valve and solid-state technology.

Unit is boldly rated a 10 because that’s what it is. Not a hint of dust on the inside when I checked what signal tubes I replaced the originals with. They are Mulllard KODD/K CV4003’s. Exterior is immaculate. Italian build quality, fit and finish is over the top! OEM double box, manual, remote and power cable.
