After the new re-designed soulshine8 tube preamp and the release of the top-line phono amp soulphono Knut Cornils released a new version of the A3.5 Class-A amps - the A3.5 MkII.
As Robert Learner of Positive Feedback Online in his review (Issue 48) about the older soulshine/A3.5 combo once concluded: "The sound quality is not only that good, it's that true park them on your rack for the next ten years and find other things to worry about..." And this is now more true than ever!
The A3.5 MkII looks almost the same like its predecessor but on the inside there are some serious improvements made. The circuitry is re-designed, the signal path is as short as possible and of purest silver and all capacitors are only of Mundorf's finest (132,000 µF filtering each mono-block!!).
The casing is now resonance-optimized which makes the amps also heavier. New Millennium Audio M-Puck vibration control feet (value of $700) replace the hardwood cones on the bottom. On the backside we find now as standard feature, top-line WBT binding posts and WBT NextGen connectors. Even the fuse is now a premium fuse - no need for replacement.
The A3.5 MkII, handmade in Germany, are extremely quick, controlled and powerful. The pure Class-A output is 90 watt on 4 ohm (50 watt on 8 ohm) each channel. The price is $6,390.- the pair. Available with silver, black or chrome front.
Combine the new A3.5 MkII monos with the new soulshine8 tube preamp and be done.

One of many Customer feedback:
"This evening I sat down to read the July/August 2011 edition of The Absolute Sound Magazine, and thought I'd put on some pleasant but mostly background music as I read. "The most relaxing Jazz Piano music in the Universe" by Denon. Just background stuff for when we have people over for dinner, etc. OK, disc two "Lover Man" with Sonny Stitt and Cedar Willams. The overall presence and (fill in every over the top audio review you have ever read) and the Vibraphone bloom and decay, etc. etc. made me put my beloved Absolute Sound down to e-mail you with my wholehearted appreciation for your having this, in my experience, the best audio value for power amps (with appropriate front end, cables and speakers) in the universe--tubes or solid state..."
